I wonder if there weren't some Scottish voters who voted Leave in order to


try and force another independence referendum.

Scotland was 62-38 Remain and I would've expected even more of a landslide than that. Scots who voted for independence two years ago were generally pro-EU and many did so specifically because the UK was threatening to leave it. Scots who voted against independence did so because they felt the economic implications of a split would be negative - and would be expected to feel the same about a break from the EU. Either way, Scotland could be expected to be a bulwark of support for Remain, and they were, but I wonder if it was diluted by the possibility of another shot at independence.

I have no scientific data on this. Just a theory.
