You act like you've cracked the code on this one. Did anyone actually go
to their website, and think for themselves?
It is a 501(c)(6) organization, which may also perform some political activities.
In fact, front and center on its home page is "Support SDLRLA 2016 Endorsed Candidates."
It's mission includes "Strongly advocate positions on judicial, economic and social issues to political leaders and state and local bar associations that impact the Latino community."
It also has a PAC. The Political Action Committee (PAC) is a separate entity comprised of community leaders and board members that oversee all aspects of the Association’s lobbying efforts. The PAC makes decisions on how to contribute the PAC’s money to support candidates and causes that are aligned with the Association’s mission and values.
And most importantly, in its community section of the front page is "National Counsel of La Raza" and links to their website.
I mean I wouldn't bring up anything about a judge in a case I was in, but to act like he couldn't be biased based on his affiliation in one La Raza group compared to another La Raza group that appears to have its mission based exclusively on race isn't persuasive.
