had community showers, but the girls had stalls. I would assume things have gotten more, not less private since then. Like I said, I think it's a non issue, and the NC law is definitely ridiculous. But I think it's also ridiculous to just dismiss privacy concerns (particularly when it comes to high school and middle school aged locker rooms) as being nothing but bigotry.

Oddly enough, I happen to know a male to female transgender fairly well. It was a guy I worked with pretty closely for a number of years. He left the company and announced he was transitioning last year. Before his transition, he was always (very) attracted to women... particularly young women. He had a reputation as being a bit of a creepy old guy that would buying young girls drinks and hit on them at the bar. He now goes by a female name, got implants, receives hormone treatments, but still has male equipment and is still very much attracted to women.

The whole thing is very strange for me, but if it makes him happy, I'm happy for him. I am conflicted about him being able to stroll into a women's locker room. The guy was a total horndog that is still very much attracted to women. Bathrooms, I have no issues with. Bathrooms are vile disgusting places (I have no idea how anyone could want to do anything other than get in and out as quickly as possible) and bathrooms provide more than enough privacy. Locker rooms, are a bit different, even though as you point out, most offer private showers. But I assume there are locker rooms that have less private changing areas and I think this guy that I know being in there while women are changing is a problem. And it's not because I'm a bigot
