They would if they were ordered to. These weren't some rogue Chinese pilots

on an unauthorized joy ride. This was a carefully calculated "statement" by the Chinese and those pilots were under orders to do it. Same as the Russians in the Baltic recently. You think if we splash one of the Chinese planes their government is just gonna be all "Yeah, we totally understand. They never should have flown so close." C'mon man.
