Heard a report yesterday that suggested that should it fully exit


and no competitors fill their space, it could have a 1-2% negative impact on insurance rates, larger in some states, smaller in others.

There are some clear adjustments that are needed in the ACA, such as discussed below (penalties for failure to have insurance) which is keeping some of the lower risk population from buying insurance still. If everyone were in the pool, the economics for United would be very different.

Unfortunately Congress has no intention of doing or approving any adjustments. The GOP would prefer to go back to the old system, where only the healthy and relatively wealthy could affords to buy insurance, and the cost of providing health care to the uninsured was an out of control fiscal problem.
