What a novel idea in DC. Throwing more money at a problem

and expecting different results. The US already spends around $15,000 K per student, including vocational programs, more than any country in the world but we are still at or near the bottom with regards to results. Giving $500 M in tax dollars in grants sounds very progressive and generous ( any any bill with the term "education" is sure to get some bipartisan support) but will that money actually reach the kids or will it go mainly to line the wallets of the educational establishment and their lobbies?
