That's the average. I must have been thinking about individual polls, but


there were a bunch that had Romney winning by 4-6 percentage points (Rasmussen all the way through the election). The data was all over the place. Think the same was true for other elections.

But you're right -- the average does not support what I thought and I stand corrected.
