he courts that segment of his voting base whether it’s him giving a mealy mouthed “both sides” equivocation when one side is compromised of neo Nazis marching with torches chanting “Jews will not replace us” or him giving legitimacy to holocaust denier and white nationalist nick fuentes, or him quoting Hitler almost verbatim to dehumanize a group do people. He can’t afford to lose the antisemitic, white nationalist segment of his base so he plays footsie with them.

I don’t think Trump would push for antisemitic legislation in a second term, but I think he would continue to embolden those elements of his base to come out of the shadows and spew their hatred out in the open like happened during his first term.
