The defendant was accused of selling crack. None of us liked the guy - he seemed pretty sleazy. All 12 of us were pretty sure he did it. But most of us (I think it was 9) still felt that the prosecution hadn't proved beyond a reasonable doubt that he did it and we refused to vote guilty. Jury deliberations lasted twice as long as the trial itself before ending as a hung jury. We could have caved and gone home a day or 2 earlier if we just voted guilty - again all of us were pretty sure he was guilty (just not proven beyond a reasonable doubt). But we took our civic duty seriously and thought it was important to follow the law.

I know first hand it is possible for jurors in that Manhattan courthouse to do the right thing no matter how they feel about the defendant. Will that be true of every single juror? No, of course not. But a verdict also requires a unanimous decision.

I'm also guessing you wouldn't be running here to cry about someone allowed to stay in the jury pool who had posted on social media a celebration of Trump winning.
