they're not (in the short-term anyhow, policy will clearly influence things in the long-run). If you want to look at economic expansions and stock market returns, the Ds have done much better than the Rs over the last several administrations. But I don't put too much stock in that honestly.

But why anyone would trust the Republican candidate with the economy and matters fiscal any more than the guy from the other party is beyond me. He's run a number of businesses into the ground (much credit for trying, though it is easier when you're daddy leaves you $ half a billion) and ran deficits that would make BHO blush (and did it during an expansion).

But perceptions are important, and the GOP candidate seems to be running better on that topic. IRL, not so much the case (kinda like the mental faculties question - a push for these two at best).
