Perhaps. I’m not real sure you can insulate NPR from overall market

Dynamics. PBS/NPR rely very, very heavily on viewer/listener contributions. That means they need to appeal to the market. Straight down the middle appeals to a very, very small market segment. Govt doesn’t plug that gap. Large donors and the govt look for viewer contributions when they contribute.

But I’m more about the NewsHour, which imo has moved slightly left of center from slightly right of center 10 yrs ago, although some of that is due to the movement of the center, not PBS. NPR going away wouldn’t effect me at all. It also wouldn’t change the overall problems with media, so I’m not sure what you’re looking to solve, except creation of a scapegoat for media complaints, and using manufactured rage to punish the scapegoat.
