The war was fought, it ended, the South lost and almost all were welcomed back into the Union. Yet, there are trolls who have to re-fight the war and drag the South's name thru the mud, over and over again. Even though some of the worst racists in the country can be found in places like, Boston, Philly, NY, etc. I will never look at this country the same way again after those statues came down and how they came down.

I never even got to see Monument Avenue. I figured I'd see it one day. I hate that the mob rules now and there is no respect for anyone or any group, not just the ones that many activate for. The loudest win. That is our so-called democracy. Those monuments shouldn't have come down. That was lawless. New monuments could have gone up w/o removing them. That was not progress. It alienated a goodly portion of people, including me and most of my family.

I now have to wonder how long it will be before some group starts desecrating confederate graves, including my family members. I'd guess that has happened in isolated incidents. Obviously I don't condone that and I am all for the restoration of slave graves, which is happening in some places near me.

I don't understand the disrespect people have to have. I am sickened by it. And I am also sickened by slavery. I am proud of the way the South fought but not for a big portion of what it fought for.
