I think if Trump wasn't president, he might have stayed under the radar
with the shenanigans Trump enterprise was pulling. Go read a summary of the indictment. It is WAY more than just the overvaluing of mar a Lago. It was rampant and egregious. I don't care about this case nearly as much as the documents case and the Georgia election interference case which are far more consequential and damning for a presidential candidate, but after perusing the indictment, I have zero sympathy for Trump. He and his company knew exactly what they were doing and it wasn't merely "pushing the envelope" on a valuation here and there. It was just flat out fraudulent valuation of properties throughout his organization in many cases just based on false information (like overstating square footage, number of homes, failure to account for rent controlled properties in valuations, ignoring third party appraisals and valuing a property for double the amount).
