obtuse and dishonest.

Bail is a creature of the criminal justice system and is used when a person's freedom is at stake and they have not yet had their day in court.

A bond is required for an appeal in a civil matter where the person's freedom is not at stake, they have had their day in Court, and they lost. Bonds are there to protect the person or entity who won in court from not being paid the judgement they won in a court of law.

You are certainly smart enough to understand the difference but you just have to be intellectually dishonest.
