...cultish TDS-afflicted lefties accusing me of being in a Trump cult is that I wasn't even originally a supporter of his in 2016 and never really liked him much as a private citizen in years prior to that or even thought about him at all.

I voted for Trump in 2016 because he was by light years the better option in that race, and then he ended up overseeing a good, not great, four years in office that were better than I expected and certainly better than the total disaster Hillary Clinton would have been. As in 2016, he was by light years the better option in the 2020 race relative to the Democrats' corrupt, incompetent dementia patient, so he had my vote again. If it's Trump vs. Biden again in 2024, then same deal.

All that said, Trump is far from perfect, as I've laid out here before:
-- He's too bombastic
-- He can't convey his thoughts clearly
-- He's petty and thin-skinned
-- He's too much of a press hound
-- He allowed too much spending while in office
-- He fell (at least initially) for the COVID panic porn
-- He wasn't ruthless in draining the swamp
-- He made numerous suspect hires
-- He was a bit naive about the true nature of the leviathan
-- He failed to protect election integrity in 2020

I have no "mindless fealty" to anyone in politics and view all politicians with an enormous degree of skepticism. If you ever get past your TDS cult mantras, you'll see that the vast majority of my Trump-related posting on here isn't puffing up Trump, but rather going after the utter and complete corruption of America's institutions -- particularly its judicial/law & order functions -- where Trump often just happens to be the target. If the target were instead Joe Smith from Peoria, then I'd be posting on stuff involving Joe Smith from Peoria rather than Trump, but that's not the world we live in.
