Right, that was my only point. 9/11 was deemed an attack on us. Whereas


they were not required to join us in Afghanistan, or Iraq for the first Gulf War (even though many allies did). Nor would they, or we, if we were to engage in Ukraine, defend Taiwan in an attack, etc.

And also to point out that adding a country like Ukraine to NATO does up what could and would be demanded of us and all NATO nations. So while it's great to have a bigger and stronger NATO, it also comes with a cost.
