When it was NBA or bust!

Dunn apparently projects as a first rounder with his glaring flaws on offense well known. He is not going to turn into a 3pt shooter in 6 months, nor does he need to. And there are a million ways his stock could diminish, so It would be very dumb for him to come back. He will get guaranteed millions and a chance to focus 100% of his time on basketball, plus the older you get the less valuable you are to the NBA. He is gone.

Re Reece, if he really isn’t going to be drafted (which surprised me but seems to be the current view) then he’s not going to really get much of a shot to play in the NBA unless he distinguishes himself in the G League making maybe $200K a year if he gets a 2-way contract. Probably less. I think Kyle Guy made like 80K his first year.

My point was we’re starting to see guys get high 6 and even 7 figures in NIL for being star college players, so there is actually a scenario where it could benefit Reece financially to come back. Likely? No. Would also require our boosters to get off their ass and his options to be better than Blue Ridge Bank and the local Mickey D’s. But his chances of making an NBA roster are looking pretty slim, so it’s not out of the question. He could also take a better NIL deal somewhere else, just being realistic (although I hope not!)
