....it is why the costs for education (many of those costs having nothing to do with the actual "education" mission) have spiraled out of control for the past 20 years.

I mean, why not set some goals, measure them and report, and then come up with some actions.....do you really need 235 people. Now..lets be clear, I'm pretty sure that not all are full time...based solely on the average and their titles..... and thus we really don't know of $15M is only DEI or is just the sum of their salaries (when many might spend most of their time doing their real job )....I figure an excel spreadsheet would do the trick.....but I'm an engineer...and just like a carpenter, who wants to solve every problem with a hammer, for me it's databases and spreadsheets. ....so I may have a gap in my understanding of the entirety of this.

Of course, after watching Dopestick and seeing how Purdue markets drugs, I kinda see the resemblance here with the entire DEI initiative. Someone marketing their skills, and creating an industry around that....when maybe a tylenol will due 99% of the time. Not the first time this has been done....as a refugee from a career spent mainly with big company America, someone would come in (usuall had some connection to a senior executive) and market some product to HR year after year...and sure enough some consultant firm would make a killing rolling out training, materials and books.....and the initiative would fade to black, until the next one came along. So, call me a cynic.
