That's quite a post -- much appreciated. I think Biden's approval rating..


woes boil down to four things:

1) He's never been likable to begin with and has no base of support, unlike, say, Trump, Obama, Bill Clinton and Reagan, so he's starting off in a hole
2) His cognitive difficulties and general frailty make it impossible for him to weild the bully pulpit, which is critical for a president
3) The border, which is entirely his administration's fault
4) Inflation, which is partially his fault

Regarding a ceiling for his approval, you are correct in that roughly half the country would never approve of him regardless of performance simply because of the way he came to power. It's like approving of the way Duke won the notorious Grayson Allen-took-four-steps "win" in Durham. Just won't happen.
