…may have been innocent, so I can’t comment first-hand on that. My read on history, though, was that the po-po, courts and Dem office-holders weren’t exactly friendly to blacks back in the day, so I’m not sure I see a parallel with today, as the law back then would surely have protected whites from black threats, real and perceived, justly or unjustly. The same can’t be said of America today, where Americans are threatened and attacked by criminals while their government not only looks the other way, but actually facilitates more crime against them. That’s going to lead to vigilantism, and many people are going to support it when government fails at its primary job.
