I think comparing them at this point to Hitler, Putin, Mussolini -- a couple of bridges too far. A lot of what Bukele has pushed for and taken criticism relates to uncontrollable gang violence that has ruined the country at times. It doesn't mean you can do anything, but it means a little something that he seemingly has a lot of support across the full population. It sounds like plenty of corruption allegations, but that unfortunately seems the rule rather than exception all over the world today. Argentina has been run into the ground for decades -- 100%+ inflation. We do a fair amount of work down there and it's not hard to see that there are some serious union "issues" that go pretty deep. I'd never look to someone like Milei for the answers, but I understand some of the desperation and potential need for drastic change.

Both may turn into horror shows, but I'm not sure it makes sense to call either a despot/dictator at this point. Unfortunate they would want to set one foot in CPAC conference, but hardly surprising. It also shows how shallow CPAC is ---- both countries are doing what they can to be closer to China for example. You would think this would be a concern for CPAC.
