Mayorkas is not guilty of anything on your say-so - see, courts make those determinations. And the notion that exceptions would be anything material - that’s something you’re pulling out of your ass along with your conviction that the real problem is that Mayorkas will ignore the law. So, that part of your bullshit is not about the law, it’s about your commitment to conspiracy theories.

The closure of the southern border becomes mandatory at 5000. My attitude on that would be the same as it was to dems who opposed wall funding for daca legal status - dems said “repubs will balk anyway”. I said let them balk and use it against them politically. If the president were to suspend emergency closure (which he can only do for 45 days - you forgot that part), then you use that against him to get a president who wouldn’t.

Your lie is in an assumption that the exceptions will materially increase that number such that 75% of it would be at least 5000, and of course your self-proclaimed authority to declare individuals you don’t like guilty of anything, and thus your hubris-filled certainty that discretionary powers wouldn’t be exercised at 4k daily encounters, and that Biden would suspend mandatory action.

Again, even if you can make that last assumption, it would last a month and a half under the law. I’m not married to that or any other provision, but this law is clearly better than no law, it has the potential to garner the bipartisan support to enact it after 4 decades of nothing, and it can’t just be ended with a new president like exec actions.

Every single consequential action in our history has been nobody’s idea of perfect, and you are ostensibly making perfect the enemy of good, but really, we all know you just want the immigration issue unfettered by bipartisan agreement in an election year.
