Imo, Trump is dooming this oppty for any sort of border or immigration bill


There’s probably a better oppty for it than there’s been in decades, and now it’s on life support, thanks to one guy and a party which is too spineless to defy him for the good of the country.

Which, cynically, I think is Trump’s goal, but if the senate caves to him here, and if the repubs don’t win both the house, and 60 seats total in the senate, with Trump winning in Nov, he’ll never get anywhere close to a solution again. We’ll be waiting at least 4 more years for congress to act on something that hasn’t been updated in around 40 yrs.

Not even saying I’ll be happy about that - I wanted the dems to jump on Trump’s wall for DACA deal during his Admin - but I think that’s the reality. And I do think that’s exactly what Trump wants, because the ongoing conflict is best for him and Trumpism (at least in Trump’s mind).
