The interviewee claimed “real” polls actually show the governing entities slightly more popular in the enclaves in which they are not in power - so Hamas slightly more popular in the WB than in Gaza. Fatah actually more popular in Gaza. Other polls say different things. Those were pre-Oct 7, and I’d bet Hamas enjoys a lotmore support from all at this point, just because they are fighting their common enemy as they see it.
I don’t think the WB Palestinians fear an influx from Gaza. I think all Palestinians fear displacement. Those in Gaza don’t believe they’d ever be allowed to return if they allow themselves to be moved off.
Israel is also probably not looking to fortify the restive Palestinian WB population.
