So take your complaints to the Dems that never codified that. But I would
suggest what you really want is the reverse Lindsey Graham stupidity - a Fed minimum, but if states want "anytime, anywhere, for any reason", then state decision it is. (as long as it's not the state decision Lindsey wanted to allow of tighter restrictions) That's not a cutoff, that's having your cake and eating it too, and only if the cake is the one you'll accept.
I, for one, hope President Nikki can get us to a reasonable compromise at the Fed level, of a 12-15 wk cutoff for elective abortions, with exceptions for life issues and rape/incest if needed. Fish and Matt have helped me see that maybe 20 weeks is a more reasonable cutoff. And that such legislation would hold up to judicial scrutiny since it's passed through legislation, rather than decided by the courts.
If that can't be passed, well I guess we're stuck with it remaining a state decision, with states landing all across the spectrum as we have now (and the GOP costing themselves state control when they overreach). The Fed approach seems preferable to me.
