That's because if you ain't paying minimum wage, you ain't hiring teens.

I did the fast food gig for a few months when I was a teen and it taught me a couple lessons about responsibility. And also what happens when your co-workers decide to bail and you don't have enough coverage. They could usually get me to work double shifts with a couple meals thrown in. And when it was my time to move on, I gave my notice, respectfully.

Now, if I'm paying 15 bucks an hour or anywhere close, I'm not hiring many teens. That's a shame for kids, some of them are damned hard workers. But at that price, I'm looking for part time adult workers or 2 jobs adults if I can get them. And prices are going way up. Fortunately I haven't eaten fast food in many years.

I was never the target market, anyway. I don't eat fries and I don't drink soda so my meals would cost about 4 bucks. I guess that would be 10ish now. Don't know how all those places will stay in business at those prices.
