In movies and tv, sure bring it on. But real life violence hits much harder and I personally don’t care to see it.

There’s also (Im guessing) a protect the children element to it, which I completely understand. Whenever there’s a mass shooting, we try to shield our kids from the PG version of the news.

And also there’s the family’s wishes to consider. Not everyone wants their dead relative’s last seconds of terror blasted all over the world.

I think America is too prudish in a lot of respects, but this is one instance I support our general censorship of gruesome, real violence.


Edit to add that I did watch the entire Uvalde video (and the Nashville video). What I liked about the Nashville video was the blurring out of the gore (and Uvalde just showed gross negligence/incompetence).
