Pointless isn’t the word I’d use. It is as critical as any war since WW2.

It’s very likely to be the determinant of whether there’s a WW3. If the repub nihilist performance artists win in getting us to abandon Ukraine in time to rescue Putin’s overrated military, chances of a WW3 skyrocket. So it would be great news if this indicates Russian defenses are a bit less stout than we thought. Because it looks like overcoming the pro-WW3 set in Congress is going to be challenge.
