Oct 7 in Israel speaks volumes about the realities of Hamas, not “woke ideology”. World reactions to it mean many things, but it was visible the second Israel’s rage began translating into actions. I was amazed by an assertion from an anti-Israeli poster here that Israel would have a free hand. The only thing you knew from the start is that Israel would get blowback. It’s only just beginning. They’re under a microscope like no other country in their shoes.

I think you can see some of the “groupthink” encouraged at our universities in the unconditional love from too many on the left for a pure terrorist organization, which is really not fighting for the well being of Palestinians any more than Israelis. It’s just trying to maximize the death toll in search of a new reactionary theocracy. So it is funny to see woke activists rooting for the destruction of Israel, in favor of a regime that would be…decidedly not woke.

But I don’t think, for instance, strongly pro-Israel Jewish wokesters suddenly changed all their views on things like gay and trans rights because some of their fellow wokesters are so clueless about the Middle East.
