Right clearly there is a lot of bad luck involved


as discussed here - this was not even a campaign or mainstream media ad. Bizarre.

But also I think the look was a bit different. It is one thing to have a banner advertising your support at a Pride event, I think it is very different to have a transvestite in a bubble bath pushing your product. And although it was not a national ad, anti-woke groups quickly ensured it was seen nationally.

The marketer woman also did not help at all with her know it all, self righteous, self congratulatory post about the initiative. To me that is also the interesting question: why is an Ivy league educated / New York living white female making branding decisions for Bud Light?
