It was probably below 1% prior to the past two days

It's already gone up significantly and will continue to do so. There's plenty of meat on the bone for Democrats over the next year when it comes to abortion and Jan 6. The one thing he has going for him is a generic nice-guy persona a la Glenn Youngkin, but that may not last long once he has to go toe-to-toe with Biden and Schumer.
