Is that the situation we're talking about?

And furthermore, WHY would I be shooting your dog? If it's because I hate dogs for no reason, then you threatening me seems almost reasonable. If it's because your dog is vicious and might kill me, and I'd shoot if if it charged me, then yeah, that might be a threat, not even allowing me to defend myself against an animal attack.
