Jumping to whichever conclusions favor their political positions. Trumpies love the Biden story because it distracts from the endless Trump indictments and allows them to protect Trump with leaps to conclusions about bias in our justice systems. One thing’s for sure - presumptions of innocence are only reserved for one’s own political side. Nobody casts a critical eye towards a scandal update that advances their politics.

This Hunter thing is a headwind for Joe. That’s true no matter what Kushner did or appears to have done, and it’s true even though I draw no equivalence between Hunter and Trump. It’s gonna be true in the election, as things stand now. The plea deal debacle in such a high profile political case is mind numbing - one would think the prosecution and defense would have dotted every i and crossed every t obsessively.

I don’t know what Joe can do about it except say “no comment” - he shouldn’t be making his thoughts about his son’s case known. But it’s gonna be spun by everyone to their political advantage, and the spin will hit home in an environment with so much distrust of institutions and anxiety about everything.
