I’ll take it a step further - who’s Tuck, you, or me to judge? I don’t
Think any of us are black. Or have ancestors who were enslaved. We should be able to admonish them for not giving their business to a state they think is actively distorting slavery in American history instruction?
We can disagree with them about what FL is doing - some folks have argued that FL might be trying to highlight the resilience and self reliance of individual slaves. I think that’s crazy, but hey, those folks should be able to go to FL all they want. But I’m not sitting in judgement of black folks who feel differently and take their biz elsewhere.
I mean, the InBev thing was about a single 30 sec spot simply designed to open a new market segment, and Trumpistan went apeshit over that. Ok, whatever, they can drink whatever they want. But I’m quite a bit more sympathetic to the feelings of black folks on this curriculum change. Seems a bit more consequential in life than a trans person sipping the same beer stock car fans like to drink (or liked to drink).
