That said, given discovery, pretrial appeals, the complex nature of the case, and the simple fact that the defendant and his legal team are involved in defending against multiple prosecutions all over the country AND running for president simultaneously, there’s no way a fair trial can be held prior to the election.

Post-election, who knows? I still maintain that there is virtually no way Donald Trump becomes president again, so the idea that he’s going to get elected and then shut down this lawfare is more preposterous than the lawfare itself. Odds are, they drop the cases post-election (as they know they’d lose on appeal even if a DC jury convicts, and that’s the last thing they’d want on the record). Their primary incentive is election interference, so once it’s over, the bottom drops out.
