Saudi Arabia is absolutely sports-washing its well deserved awful international rep, with ridiculous amounts of money thrown at big draws. No sports league on the planet can compete, because the Saudis don’t give a shit about profitability of individual ventures. It’s a part of a much bigger PR effort. Cost of doing business to them.

There’s not an ounce of principle in it. But the PGA may have had no other choice than to join or die, you’re right about that.
