My impression - the PGA thought it was going to die, not LIV.


They were taking it on the chin from multiple angles, including from the IRS on tax exempt status. LIV has infinitely deep pockets. The PGA does not.

They could have been wrong, but we don’t really know what PGA leadership knew about their finances and various legal exposures. I think they made this deal because they didn’t think they’d be around long without it. At least not as the PGA that always ruled pro golf.
