Huge disparities between representation numbers and vote share -
shouldn’t be tolerated regardless of which party is trying to benefit from it. At the end of the day, it’s fundamentally disenfranchisement. Saw some sobering commentary recently talking about, historically, the more such a disparity exists, the riskier it becomes to the governmental system itself - i.e., civil unrest, revolution, etc. etc.
This country should do better but it doesn’t. Our elected “leaders” actively choose wrong over right - as long as it benefits their short term interests. The long term cost of this behavior - should it be allowed to accumulate and worsen over time, which it is - comes at enormous risk to our democracy.
