If justice is ideally blind, it should be blind to public opinion and blind

to political considerations. Having said that, I do think the circumstances of the perjury bear on a decision to prosecute. There would appear to be a huge distinction between perjury about a blowjob and perjury about paying a potential witness off about an extra marital affair, in order to smooth the way to getting elected to the highest office in the land.

As for practical risk or the noise of public opinion or any other outside factor, potential charges regarding the coup attempt must proceed regardless. I don't think the true point is the diverse and competing number of cases, but the diverse number of crimes committed by one person who before operated with no consequences to his actions.

Doubtless, Trump and his minions are going to complain loudly and often about being victimized. In reality, the rule of law and our institutions have been the victims.
