I agree with some of that.

I absolutely agree that snowflake righties overstate the lean of the NYT. Supported by your view about the Comey thing right before Election Day. But I think they just did their job in that instance. They didn’t encourage Comey’s revelations. Just reported on his activities, which is their job.

But yeah, I think there are better analogies over the Iran WMD thing and maybe the Clinton Fdn too. If they detect a scandal, they lean in for the extra eyeballs.

I resist the notion that the NYT sucks because it was my paper of choice for so long. But it isn’t anymore, which I guess means I agree with you.

After the Iraq WMD debacle, the entire media searched their souls, including the NYT. Apparently not very effectively. I don’t sense as much appetite for critical self-examination over Russiagate coverage, which is why I like that CJR piece. Warts and all.
