deserted. I don't think I've been there since about 1979 and I thought it was overdeveloped back then. We looked into the Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville places, which honestly looked too much like The Villages for my tastes, but were kind of intrigued when they said they were opening one at "Hilton Head." Yeah, right. They're all the way out in Hardeeville. I have to think that the highway corridor from I-95 out the island, which also used to be deserted, is pretty developed itself by now.
