No I’m not. I’m saying at a minimum you don’t close Bagram airfield

Before you even start the mass evacuation. I’m saying that you make sure allies don’t claim they were not even consulted after standing by us for 2 decades. Most importantly, I’m saying that the focus of the exit shouldn’t have been to create the backdrop for a nice 20th anniversary ceremony on 9/11/21.

And I do hypothesize that if we’d played a little hardball with the Taliban, and said “dudes, we are leaving as soon as we get our people out. You can fight us on that, and then you’ll get blasted back to your caves, or you can wait a few additional months and we’ll be gone”. That may not have worked, but I believe it would have. They did nothing but stomp around when we violated the Trump surrender deadline. A few extra months would probably not have mattered to them.
