Inflation is real and it’s outpacing of wage growth is real; the potential for war in Ukraine is real; the fed on the brink of steps to slow the economy is real. A report in a newspaper about strong GDP growth is actually a bit less real, and it’s in the past.

Remember, this is a measure of sentiment about future expectations. It’s not rwnj propaganda driving pessimism about that. That’s why markets have been down this year - also a measure of sentiment about the future.
