feels essentially any time any politician openly embraces faith in public discourse. I really have no issue with the concept (I used to in the past, but feel differently today) although admit that it can easily seem (and sincerely be) quite disingenuous and entirely about political points. I completely get that. I think we are all capable of using our brains to make judgments about the sincerity of such things -- knowing that we may be wrong and can never really know with certainty what is in someone's head. But it isn't all that hard imo to listen and make a reasonable judgment, especially over time. But I don't quite agree that it is automatically disrespectful of the notion of sincere faith itself for a politician to try and express publicly how one's faith may guide on any given topic.

In the case of someone like Ron Johnson -- I kind of like to hear it actually because he may be trying to make a sincere statement to the best of his ability and understanding, but hearing how absolutely wrong he is in his analysis helps me to determine that he is someone who has a terrible understanding of basic biblical principles and anyone with such a poor understanding of important topics like vaccines and biblical Christianity should not be in public office.
