I think her bio appeals to a lot of voters

Born in Jamaica, served in the Marines, earned an associates degree, bachelor’s degree and masters degree. Small business owner. And previously defeated a longer term democratic state legislator in a democratic district while running as a Republican. Those things may not outweigh political party? But I think they are factors.
