Left unsaid so far as I can see is that the catastrophic COVID policies implemented by Dem pols have pissed off more people than you can count, primarily parents, and that played a huge role in yesterday’s results. It was payback time at the ballot box.

The CA recall effort of Newsom was a harbinger on this front, so it should not come as a surprise elsewhere. CA is too far left to have actually flipped, but the outrage here was palpable, even among NeverTrumpers, and certainly enough to flip less radically blue areas.

The postmortem focus today is on CRT’s impact, but that would only explain VA even if it were the only issue there, which it wasn’t. Even CRT is mislabeling the issue. The actual issue is parents caring about their kids and their kids’ educations, which are being threatened by Dem policy across the board, whether it be COVID bullshit, CRT or other insanity.

It will be interesting to see if Dems nationally change course or double down. They are so far down the rabbit hole that turning back now will be extremely difficult.

Your comment on Trump is an interesting one. I’d say the results show that the Dems need him far more than the Reps need him. Yesterday was so bad for the left that Trump might actually be given his Twitter feed back and stop being censored by the media. They need their Great Orange Whale back stat!
