I view this as a race. The GOP energized its base with a racist

dog whistle. It still works with a lot of older white people, even in VA. Over time, these people will pass away and the younger generations are not as bigoted, IMO. However, the GOP is moving things in their direction, against the demographic trends, by limiting voting, extreme gerrymandering, etc... I think this is a dam which will ultimately burst, but there is the slight risk that we lose voting rights, which scarily, is the primary GOP strategy right now.

Who wins the race? Demographics which favor the Dems or can the GOP cut that off before demographics win out.
