College football has been essentially professional for a long time, but has

constructed the fiction that it is about student-athletes. It rakes in billions of dollars and the kids don't see one dime of that. In addition, who will be in the playoffs? Hmmm, let me guess with a dartboard.....Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma. Boooorrrrrinng! Oh I know Notre Dame snuck in there last season to be the sacrificial lamb we all knew they would be. LSU was a little bit of a surprise and a delight. All other games and bowls are not meaningful as the rest line up to be cannon fodder for the top four or five programs.

This is why I prefer the NFL. It's professional. It spreads the wealth around. It is hard as hell to win a championship and difficult to repeat. The playoffs are actually competitive! I still like college football, but the NFL is better and not as hypocritical.
