To their point, however, you're attacking from the low ground when you
are trying to convince people to vote for someone they disagree with at deeply fundamental levels, on the hope that the checks and balances in our govt will prevent the "worst" from becoming policy.
As things look now, the realistic centrist candidate looks frail, and the only other realistic candidate looks like she will mostly appeal only to the woke white vote. Some of the rest of us will hold our nose and vote for any dem, but quite possibly, not enough of us. Right now, I'd say probably. If the "purple" voters in purple states say "I can't vote for either, so I'll vote 3rd party", generally, I think that will amount to a vote for Trump.
And we're about to impeach, with close to no chance for conviction (I know that could change, but I wouldn't hold my breath).
The way all this is unfolding leaves me a bit nervous about the prospects of ridding ourselves of Trump before 2024.
