I totally agree. That's a great description of the sentiment.


But think about it - why now all the sudden? Britian's been in the project for decades, and has been a leading member and arguably a leading beneficiary. It eagerly joined in every step of the evolution, and IMO made the wise choice of staying out of the euro. One reason I'm a little surprised it's the first to leave.

But what changed? The finl crisis? The info age? The way echo chambers can now operate? Village squares only existing in virtual reality, walled off from dissent? Why is emotion triumphing over reason in ways it hasn't since WWII?
